Get ready for an action-packed 2025 season of the Murray Valley Football Netball League (MVFNL)! Teams are pumped, fans are excited, and this year’s games promise to bring loads of fun, competition, and community spirit.
Now in its third year, the MVFNL is a big part of life in the Murray Valley. It’s more than just sports—it’s about bringing people together. This year, there are some new faces on the league’s board. Andrew "Junior" Schultz is the new President, Elouise Stalenberg is stepping up as Vice President, and Melanie Grant has joined as a board member. A huge thank-you goes to Neil Martinson, the outgoing President, for helping create the league and leading it from the start.
Last year, Murrayville had an outstanding season. They secured a dominant 82-point victory over Brown’s Well in the football Grand Final and also took the A Grade netball title after beating Sedan Cambrai. This year, they’re looking to defend both titles. On the football side, Keenan Wilksch will be the new playing coach. For netball, the A Grade team is determined to stay on top.
Brown’s Well is ready to fight back after last year’s loss in football. They’ve got a new coach, Nathan Francis, who’s taking on his first coaching job. In netball, their B Grade team will try to repeat last year’s incredible one-point win over Ramco in the Grand Final.
Rivalries will heat up this season! Football matchups like Sedan Cambrai vs. BSR, Wunkar vs. Brown’s Well, and Paringa vs. Ramco are sure to bring the excitement. BSR is determined to have a better finals run under their coach, Jimmy Mapstone. Ramco has added two premiership players from Murrayville, making them a team to watch. There’s even a new rivalry between Murrayville and Wunkar, with a father and son coaching against each other. In netball, Murrayville will defend their A Grade title while Brown’s Well and Paringa try to take them down.
This year, there are some exciting changes in coaching. Keenan Wilksch leads Murrayville in football, Nathan Francis takes over at Brown’s Well, and Shane Cooke joins Sedan Cambrai with coaching experience from Adelaide and Mannum. Nick Dillon is back at Paringa, ready to bring energy and passion to his team. On the netball side, Paringa is fielding full squads in both A and B Grades after only having one team last year. They’re excited to be back in full force.
The season kicks off on April 26 with a football Grand Final rematch between Murrayville and Brown’s Well. On the netball court, reigning champs Murrayville’s A Grade team will begin their journey to keep their crown. The season wraps up with the Grand Final on September 20. Mark your calendars—you won’t want to miss it!
